NOTES

An interesting turn of events...

I'm still doing design work for PDXWIT, but things have changed for the better.

How, you may ask... well.

I went to a lunch meeting where we discussed the needs of the non-profit and what the board of directors wanted to see moving forward. Arriving early and securing a table, I was prepared to discuss what I needed to move forward with what I need as far as color, fonts, photo usage and the like for the brand guide. My preparation wasn't needed however.

It appears I will be not only creating this brand guide, but heading up a redesign for the entire (now newly formed) non-profit. That includes a new logo, a new site, a new... everything!

This is something I've been wanting to do for what seems like forever. It's extremely exciting for me not only because I believe in the good this group does, but for me as a graphic designer.

Identity systems and branding is one of my favorite things to design. During lunch, we outlined responsibilities and the air was positively electric with ideas and excitement about what we were about to do. I think I'm on the brink of something great.

At the very least, I have a decent idea of how the brand guide's layout will look. I'm quite excited to use what I came up with.
